Planning Process Group

The Planning Process Group is arguably the most important. It is a very comprehensive planning effort that requires the involvement of the project management team and key stakeholders. This process involves the gathering and analyzation of the project in great detail. While developing the project plan; project scope, time, cost, quality, communications, human resources, risks, procurements, and stakeholder management should be reviewed to its fullest extent. The project documents, standards, and procedures will be outputs from the planning process. This will enable a clear path to a successful completion of the project. It’s important during the planning process to ensure project goals and objectives are aligned with corporate strategy and tactics. A well thought-out and managed plan will lead to stakeholder buy-in as well as positive engagements and support.
