4.4 Monitor and Control Project Work
Process Definition
Monitoring and controlling project work involves the analysis of performance data in order to determine if the work being conducted is meeting the performance objectives defined in the project management plan. This allows stakeholders and project managers to comprehend the current status of the project.

Process Assessment
This process is an ongoing system of collecting, reviewing, analyzing and reporting performance data. It needs to be conducted throughout the project life-cycle. Once the data is understood, then the project manager can make the decision if re-planning, corrective actions or preventive actions are required.
