Monitoring and Controlling Process Group

The monitoring and controlling process group comprises the activities required to track, review, evaluate, analysis and oversee project progress and performance. This includes determining and implementing required changes. This process will evaluate performance at defined points in time such as regular intervals, milestones, or unplanned occurrences to identify variances to the original plan. This system of continuous monitoring and controlling provides the project manger and team a means to comprehend project success or failure as the project is ongoing. This allows the project manager to make corrective actions while the project is being conducted. It not only gives performance measures at the work package level but also provides an overall assessment of project health.
