Executing Process Group
The executing process group puts all of the planning efforts the project team has accomplished into action. Executing the project involves more than just coordinating personnel and resources. During this process the project manager will also need to mange stakeholder expectations as the project moves towards completion. One of the more demanding parts of the execution process is when the need arises for planning updates and rebaselining. These unpredicted events will most likely have a direct effect on the project management plan and other project documents. It is important to request changes as required, to properly update any effected documents, and create a new baseline if necessary. During this process the project manager will also develop, train, and strengthen the project team. This will ensure the other processes within this group will be handled with professionalism and confidence. The major areas of execution in this group are directing project work, performing quality assurance measures, managing communications, and conducting the projects procurement requirements.
