10.3 Control Communications

Process Definition
Controlling communications is the process of ensuring the stakeholders are receiving the information they require. It should provide the best solution for communication flow between the project team and stakeholders.

Process Assessment
This process is an ongoing effort throughout the entire life-cycle of the project. It is a continuous effort of monitoring communication flow and controlling messages being communicated to ensure the correct information is being transmitted to the correct individuals.

Project communications encompasses all activities that require any form of communication. These communications come from multiple sources. This example is a paper I wrote in PMGT 502 Effective Communications for Managing Projects that discusses effective project communications.

(Tools & Techniques) Information Management Systems
Information management systems provide the project team a way to digitally and visually communicate project data. This can be accomplished through media such as reports, graphs, tables, etc. This example is a snapshot of Microsoft Project 2013 distribution formats taken from PMGT 501 Fundamentals of Project Management

This examples discusses lessons learned from my third PMGT class. Lessons learned can become part of a historical database for the organization. This example was from PGMT 611 Anatomy of Project Organizations.
