13.4 Control Stakeholder Engagement

Process Definition
Controlling stakeholder engagement involves evaluating stakeholder relationships and then determining the need to adjust the game plan for engaging them. This should make the process of engagement more effective and streamlined as the project progresses.

Process Assessment
This process is more of an evaluation of the original stakeholder management plan to ensure it is actually meeting stakeholder requirements. If the engagement and communication methods are not adequate then it is up to the project manager to make changes to the plan that will satisfy stakeholder requirements.

Project documents are utilized as supporting inputs. This example is from PMGT 502 Effective Communications for Managing Projects, written by Jeremy Curbey, Reese Darlington, and Amanda Evans.

(Tools & Techniques) Information Management Systems
Information management systems provide the project team a way to digitally and visually communicate project data. This can be accomplished through media such as reports, graphs, tables, etc. This example is a snapshot of Microsoft Project 2013 distribution formats taken from PMGT 501 Fundamentals of Project Management

This is an example of a project document, the stakeholder management plan, that can be updated as the project progresses. This example was updated to show changes in the stakeholder communication matrix. The project management plan houses the stakeholder management plan in which explains the ways to which the project team will interact, engage and communicate with the stakeholders. The example was from a group Project in PMGT 502 Effective Communications for Managing Projects, written by Jeremy Curbey, Reese Darlington, and Amanda Evans.
